Update to importing Information Models, December 2020

07.12.2020

With the recent releases of Prosys OPC UA SDK for Java 4.5.0 and Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server 5.0.4, the time has come to test importing information models from NodeSet files again.

The Prosys OPC UA SDK for Java was updated to use version 1.04.7 of the standard OPC UA information model in version 4.4.2. This update enabled loading information models that depend on this version of the standard information model such as Weighing Technology information model. The newest version of Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server uses this version of the Prosys OPC UA SDK for Java.

The OPC Foundation has also published three new information models: Industrial Automation, Machinery and Machine Tool. All of these new information models could be successfully imported from NodeSet files with the new versions of Prosys OPC UA SDK for Java and Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server.

Some NodeSet files contain Variable Nodes with ValueRanks that are not supported by the Code Generator. By excluding such Nodes in the Code Generator’s configuration file, it can successfully generate Java code for the models. The test results have been updated to reflect this.

Please, see the updated Blog Post for further information on importing information models from NodeSet files.
