Prosys sponsored again the OPC Day Finland 2015 in Espoo. The event was hosted by Siemens Osakeyhtiö on October 20th. The day was opened by Janne Öhman with an overview of Siemens’ take on Industry 4.0. We also heard several similar presentations as at the OPC Day Europe 2015, but we also had some local presentations and talks from OPC UA vendors about the current product offerings. Stefan Hoppe, the Vice President of OPC Foundation, Matthias Damm, one of the main technical architects of OPC UA and Dr. Miriam Schleipen from Fraunhofer provided us good speaks. Locally we heard Janne Harju describing an application of the ISA-95 information model, Mika Karaila to present his experiments on node-red based prototyping of OPC UA in context of bluetooth connections and me, Jouni Aro to tell about our performance measurements of OPC UA.

Around 70 people joined the event this year, which means we had a full room at Siemens, who hosted the event splendidly. We had good discussions during and at the end of the day and raised a lot of interest for OPC UA in general. The events in Finland continue to be successful year after year - we have been arranging them for ten years already! Thanks to the Finnish Society of Automation to enabling such a tradition!
