Introduction to OPC UA Online Course - Instructions

20.01.2021

Sign-up

The sign-up process consists of two steps: creating an account and confirming it later using your email address. Please note, the sign-up process is free of charge.

In order to create an account, proceed by the following link: Create an account »

In the opened window, at the bottom page, you will see “Don’t have an account? Sign up for free!”

Click to Sign up, and it will direct you to a new page where you need to enter: your first and last name, email address, username and password. Please note, following the platform’s requirements, the password must be strong and consist of upper and lower cases, numbers and symbols.

After you entered all the details and ensured they are correct, click “Create account”. Within a few minutes, you should receive an email which would require you to confirm your account. After it is verified, you will get a second email confirming that account has been created for you.

Enrolling to the course

After receiving a second email, you go back to the webpage and log in using your username and password. Then you proceed to the main page. On the main page, you can check your course progress, enter the discussions and view all the upcoming events.

On the right side, you will see the “Course Catalog”. There, you can find all the courses currently being offered by Prosys OPC.

Right now, the only course available is Introduction to OPC UA. If you would like to purchase a course immediately, you can click “Get the course” and proceed to the payment process. However, if you want to view the contents of the course, e.g. available chapters and modules, click on the course title. On the screenshot below you can see a module 1 of the online course.

Payment process

The payment process can be done either with a PayPal account or a PDF invoice. Whether you are a private or a corporate customer, you can pay online using your PayPal account. Another option is to contact sales@prosysopc.com, and we will then provide you with a PDF invoice, which you can pay via international bank transfer. Please note, for corporate customers with an EU VAT number, PayPal does not support VAT free payments. Therefore, if you don’t want to pay VAT, the only option is using a PDF invoice. This policy is introduced because generally, EU customers are subject to 24% VAT.

Another exception is university students and educational institutions’ attendees. Please send us your information and certificate of attendance to sales@prosysopc.com in order to receive a 50% discount. After confirmation, we will provide you with a PDF invoice and login credentials.

Self-paced training

After you complete the payment process, you will receive an email confirmation that you have been enrolled to the course. Now it is time to study!

The online course consists of four modules:

  • OPC UA Introduction
  • OPC UA Products
  • OPC UA Use Cases
  • OPC UA in Industry 4.0

Each module is divided into a number of chapters that include video lectures hosted by the experienced OPC UA trainer.

Below you can see an example of one of the “OPC UA Basic Models” chapter in Module 1.

At the end of every chapter there’s a question based on the video lecture presented by company’s instructor. These questions help you to check your knowledge, track your progress and ensure your readiness for the module exam.

If you have any questions, please contact Prosys OPC Sales for more information.
