Prosys OPC UA Client 2.0 & Simulation Server 2.0 released

30.09.2014

New versions of our two handy OPC UA tools have been released today. Both of these tools are free applications.

Prosys OPC UA Client

Our OPC UA Client is updated to comply with OPC UA version 1.02. The main new feature is that it supports HTTPS protocol, in addition to the standard UA Binary (opc.tcp).

Another big new feature is the EventHistory View, which enables you to validate server’s that provide history for events, for example if you are developing one yourself.

There are also other usability issues that have been improved.

The application was also renamed from Prosys OPC UA Java Client to Prosys OPC UA Client.

Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server

Our OPC UA Simulation Server has been available for download as beta for a long time and it is now considered ready for release.

Since the original 1.0 release, which did not really contain any GUI, the complete user interface has been designed and implemented. The user interface is based on JavaFX, which was updated remarkably in Java 8. Since the latest public beta, the application was moved from Java7/JavaFX2 to Java8/JavaFX8.

Since JavaFX applications are typically distributed with the embedded JRE, the Java version does not impose any new requirements for the installation - except that Java8 does not support Windows XP any more.

Simulation Server is also compatible with OPC UA 1.02 and implements both UA Binary and HTTPS protocol.

Simulation Server provides configurable simulation signals, data changes, data history, events and event history for demonstration and testing purposes.
